I have them but I'm always wary of tightening them too much and "spin" the top half of the nut, which makes getting them off a f g nightmare!

I had to cut one of mine off with an angle grinder, killing an alloy in the process!  Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

I took them off mine - as has already been said, those that are likely to steal wheels will not be deterred by them anyway.. 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

Took mine off.

More trouble than they're worth if/when they go wrong.

Must be quicker/easier to take the car than brick up and remove the wheel(s) 2024 P550e Autobiography

12 voters have them, 11 not. Only a snapshot but thought many more would have them.

Maybe the members on here take note and have a bit more savvy then many FF drivers? Almost every FF we get in to the workshop has them fitted...

First job as the car is driven onto the ramp is to locate the locking wheel nut bolt and place it on a hook on the ramp. Logical to find it when A, the car is at ground level & B, your hands are clean

So, my reckoning would be maybe 1 in 20 FF's i see don't have them... & 1 in 10 have an issue in there lifetime (usually with someone fitting tyres)

Nothing wrong with our locking nuts but I'll stop using them now as the wheels look better with standard nuts (IMO), the chances of wheel theft seem negligible and as you say, if a locking nut fails, the implications of dealing with that failure appear to outweigh any benefit in using locking nuts on these cars.

Yep took mine off a few months ago when I did the tyre swap was lucky enough to have another set of nuts (don't tell the missus )from when I had other rims on the p38 so was able to get rid of a few that had swollen

Not fitted when I bought the car, never been a problem going without.

Other car, Audi, has them but not the "spinner" type, so as long as I am anal about the special nut in the boot, no problems either. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
