Tesco Hudl 2 - anyone got one ?

I picked one up today - we're an Apple family, all got iPhones, iPads, Macs etc, but I thought I'd pick up a Hudl to have a play with - mainly as it cost me no actual money - just £65 worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers.

My first venture into Andriod land..... Confused

Please provide some feedback once you have had a chance to play with them as I thought of getting these for the kids to use in the back of the car as RSE. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ
2014 (L405) VSE in Black with Ivory
2011 (L322) VSE in Black with Ivory
2005 (3.2 V6) Porsche Cayenne in Black with Savanna
1999 (P38) VSE in Burgundy (?) with Sand

It seems good so far - nice size & quite tactile. I've been 100% Apple for quite a few years, so still figuring out how to navigate it properly.

I've put a 32Gb micro SD in it which is the max it will take + it has 16Gb built in.

I dumped some photos on it & it displays those well, once I discovered the Android File Transfer application - when you plug in the USB, a Mac doesn't even recognise an Android device Rolling Eyes

Has apps like BBC iPlayer, there's a VLC beta which I haven't tried yet. What format video would you load onto it & I'll give it a try ?

I also want to see if it will play video straight from the card on my Blackvue - will hopefully get round to that at the weekend.

I very happy with it

I have an iPad Air as my regular tablet - I really just bought this to play around with.

I loaded an MP4 and an AVI film on and it played both with no problems at all with VLC player

I've loaded some music I'd loaded to iTunes in AAC format - played fine - even added the album artwork without prompting.

The GoPro app works well

As an RSE replacement, I'd recommend, particularly if, like me, you have more Tesco vouchers than you really know what to do with.

VLC is noted for playing just about anything. Glitchy, poorly encoded videos - VLC seems to come through were others don't.
