STOP wasting money & time and put OE pads in "as i said months ago!" and it will disappear!!! NON OE PADS DO NOT WORK simple!!!!

I have non-OE pads in my own Brembo calipers. They do not squeak or squeal.

In addition, I have also fitted many sets of non-OE pads to my customers cars, again, with no issue.

That is not to say the OP has an issue with the brand of pads he has fitted, mind you

I had a similar situation the previous owner went to Halfrauds for pads so lots of intermittent squealing - car not me - and grinding bought new Brembo discs and pads 155 quid 2 hours to fanny around putting them in and now silence Thumbs Up Thumbs Up have to agree with Craig not saying other stuff doesn't work but if you want a definite cure Brembo pads and discs Thumbs Up

Not all of them. Why would that make a difference?

Because that is what the OP is asking about... Non OE Brembo related pads may well work in lots of different applications! My point was, using cheap aftermarket pads on Brembo equipt 322's simply DONT work in our experience! Been there, tried many many different brands and they all kept coming back with the same issues! Those issues were almost all solved by fitting decent quality OE brake pads!

Simply does not make good business practice! Thumbs Up

Mmmmmmmmm, on the 2006 with original pads I had a slightly different squeal issue. When in traffic on a rainy day, after a while creeping through the brakes started to squeal like a banshee if you applied the brakes slowly (as one does in traffic). If you'd apply it quickly (jerking to a halt) then it was fine. And once you started driving normally it went away when braking.

I never understood why that happened but since it didn't happen a lot, I didn't care about it that much. Still strange.

Good point on the brake pads, I prefer to go with OE anyway on bikes and cars, unless I know the non-OE is better than the OE. Clearly on the FFRR it is better to stick with OE, I guess it is not worth the risk of having to buy them anyway based on Craigs experience. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I was referring to L322 and L320, both of which use the same caliper (with different size mounting holes) and the same brake pads. Never had the pleasure of fitting pads to any other Brembo caliper, other than LR/RR

Been there, tried that, never had an issue in the last 4 years Thumbs Up

There are better, and cheaper brake pads available than OE Thumbs Up

I did actually buy a Brembo disc and pad set for the front (paid over £200 for the parts alone) and I then bought the set for the rear.

The fronts work via the original Brembo calipers. When fitting the rear discs and pads I also had fitted, brand new rear TRW calipers. The rears do not squeak or squeal at all.

The fronts are now becoming more than intermittent with their anti social symptoms and the noise is now unacceptable, to me at least. Cars like these shouldn't be turning heads on the street because they sound like an old wheelbarrow or a bus coming to a halt!

There is no grinding feel when braking though.

At the time of purchasing the front brake discs and pads, I did believe that it was 'a good deal'. I did not feel I was buying on the cheap.

I'm in no position to confirm that it is the brake pads causing this noise. Including fitting, the front calipers, discs and pads have been cleaned and copper greased in appropriate places 3 times in 7 months. When cleaned and greased, the squeaking and squealing does disappear. The pattern is that it returns after several weeks though.

I respect Craig's advice ... and after several months of putting up with these intrusive noises and readying myself to yet again remove clean, re-grease and refit the pads, whilst I will have the front calipers serviced anyway, for £88 + VAT for a pair of new LR OE front pads from Duckworths, I'm prepared to pay that if it will get rid of those awful noises.

To clarify, the OE Brembo pads are squealing? Whistle

For info, I run Brembo calipers on my Disco 3, using EBC Redstuff pads and drilled + grooved discs. The pads do squeal a little while they bed in, but once bedded in, they are silent and have been for the last 25k miles. A few heavy stops speed up the process of bedding in Thumbs Up

Pads cost me £75 + VAT

Worth having a look at is the wear sensor when I changed mine the wear sensor was not located properly and had wear on it from the disc pretty sure this was causing the intermittent wheelbarrow noise might be worth a look

Ours has covered approx 8,000 miles in the 7 months they've been fitted so they should have bedded in by now; and the squeal manifested from the point when they were newly fitted up to and including now. The former pads didn't squeal.

One slight anomaly is that the rear Brembo pads don't squeal under braking and there is no rear wheelbarrow squeak when the car is 'free wheeling'.

Edit - noted that re sensor Sandy, thanks.

Thumbs Up

I must say I hated the noise as you say a car like a FF should make the noise of a rust bucket
Hope it works keep us posted

So the consensus is not to go for these?

If you can live with the squeal for a few hundred miles until they bed in, I recommend these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EBC-FRONT-REDSTU...43b214f2f1

Who knows.......

To add my 5p. I have just taken off a set of LR boxed/brembo branded(on the pad) pads as the seemed to be contaminated and were causing bad juddering under braking, somehow there was greasy deposits everywhere?

Have fitted a set of trw pads which I bought a year or so ago and they seem fine, I assume that they are also OE? The braking was much improved much crisper, bearing up my theory that the brembo pads were contaminated. Realistically I cOuld do with changing the discs as well as there is a slight drone under heavy braking, which I put down to some contamination on the discs. Stopping power is not affected. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
