I have just driven my first L322 and it was a 4.4TDV8 at a local dealer. I drove to back to back with a RRS 3.0 TDV6.

The 4.4 TDVV8 seems to be a superlative car, beautiful to drive, effortless and fantastic interior and driving position. This was the car, an 11 plate 4.4TDV8 Vogue with 39,000 miles on it and one owner. If I was further tempted to drive a deal on it, can someone say whether this is a good price or not?

To note, from 16-20 Oct, there is a LR used car event - 2 years warranty, 2 services and a used APR of 7.9% on used cars. This seems to make it more tempting.

I am tempted if the finance figures stack up, it could be a worthy replacement for the X5 which is a great car. I have just checked the LR website and this car is excatly the same - same colour, same leather, same plate (61), same spec except no running boards, and just 7000 more miles and is £2500 cheaper than the one in my local dealership - this one is in Mayfair.

THe dearer one had more factory options and lower mileage.

What are the options over the standard Vogue spec on these cars? Its quite hard to tell. I have to say though, if the figures work out this is just so tempting.

I bought a 2010 VSE from them a couple of years ago, they were good to deal with, after sales/ warranty work was no problem at all. And if you push them to the max a respectable discount on screen price can be had. I say go for it.
One idear is, and I wish I had thought of this at the time is don't argue the screen price but haggle the finance rate instead.

Just to play devils advocate a moment... Have you looked at a VSE as the seats are sooooooo much nicer than the standard Vogue seats

Imho worth an extra amount for the nicer trim level... Just my 2p worth sir

Vogue seats are fine sir... But look and feel the same as the 2006> model... For me that would be too much of a compromise

Bought a Disco 3 HSE from them a fair few years ago now... Visited the showroom on the last day of the month, offered them £2,500 below screen price and after a "I'll have to ask my manager" response, they accepted the offer there and then.

They were very good during the sales process and during the after sales process for the following 4 years, the service dept was just brilliant!

It's a real shame, but the FFRR 4.4 is probably a non starter. Financing with LR finance results in a too high monthly payment. It's really strange that a similar price and age RRS SDV6 is about £100 a month cheaper as the residual future value of the RRS is about £4000 difference after 4 years. I would have though the FFRR would be the more desirable car and hold its value better - clearly not.

That's a real shame as I was totally smitten by the car I drove yesterday.

Strange, but obviously they assume that the RRS will be worth slightly more due to it being a V6. Why not try Oracle for a balloon finance quote?
