My First Vogue

I've been considering a Vogue for sometime, having had a couple of Sports fairly recently and a P38 a long time ago.

Last time I seriously considered it, I ended up going for the 2 car strategy of an Audi A6 Quattro for the long trips and a late TD5 Defender as a work horse.

Well the Defender is a keeper, but the Audi has gone today and I finally bit the bullet and bought an immaculate 2010 model year Vogue SE in Santorini with Ivory interior from Gary Elliott, who is a top bloke. Smile

The car was completely as described by Gary and after the 150 mile trip back North on a completely torturous "Friday M1" I now know what I have been missing - one consolation of the slow traffic was over 30 mpg - suspect I'll never achieve that again.

So here it is...

I just need a couple of bits (mats and an ipod lead) and then hopefully all I need to do is enjoy it.

Thanks Gary!

Yes, very happy with the car, and it is very shiny even with M1 rain and grime on it.

Already bought a genuine ipod lead on ebay, just waiting for Dan at Duckworth to confirm a price of new mats, to get a feel for the price difference on used - feels like it deserves new really.

I am in Sheffield, so also have the benefit of a great specialist in Doug Dransfield who looks after my Defender, should things go wrong. Smile

Ah, that was the scruffy looking one........only joking. Have been using the pic as a shaving mirror. Looks well mint.

Cracking colour combination.

Just looked up Doug Dransfield as I'm in Chesterfield, but its pretty well north. I'm currently using Sheffield Prestige and they have been excellent.

Sheffield Prestige have come up before in some of my searching and so have Cavendish in Chesterfield.

Doug is fantastic with the Defender and his prices are very good, but even for me its a bit of a trek out to the very North edge of Sheffield.

Yes, really wanted the Ivory interior which I suppose will be more difficult to keep 'looking good', it contrasts really well with Santorini - also really like the perforated leather of the SE.

Need to research the best way of cleaning and 'feeding' the leather, particularly the drivers seat - have already seen some good info on here.
