With winter on the horizon are there any particular areas on my RR that I should be greasing up as a form of preventative maintenance?

Hi J90, did mine a few weeks ago. Bonnet slam springs, smear all locks but not too much as you dont want any on your clean clothes, I also concentrated on the tailgate straps, you can peel back the plastic/rubber covers top and bottom you may find as I did they are very wet , dry out and grease well. If your feeling eager you could also have a go at your brake pipes, give em a clean and grease em. I'm sure that someone will find something else for you to do, but that's my two penny worth.

Thanks Greg. It a good list to be going on with. Also somewhere on the forum (I cant find it!) there's some advice about packing grease around the wheel arches. I'll have to have a look for that as well.

Yes the rear wheel arches inside rear doors better access with the wheel off and liner out. Did mine a couple of months ago. Mainly surface rust on mine, so rubbed down kurusted and black hammerite. Let that dry then coated it all in black grease the cv joint stuff. I also got some plastic wheel arch protector off the bay of e and cut to suit. Jobs a good en.

frost and low temperatures normally means the aged rubber seals sticking on the doors so one treatment is GUMMI PFLEGE which treats the rubber and helps prevent the embarrassment of having to enter the FF via the tailgate.. ... - .- -.

I suggest that you do the gearbox linkage as well !! WD40 first and then cover it in a good "outside" type of grease (my personal favourite is Shell Rhodina II). Oh and wheel nuts (the threads including the conical face that sits in the wheel).

On the wheels, also do the wheel to hub surface as those can also get corroded quite badly and you'll be kicking (literally) the wheel to get it of, very annoying. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
