Been offered this

had a call late on Friday night from a guy I bought a grill from (for an overseas FF member) maybe 2 or 3 years ago......
He said he's relocating and offered me a couple of his '73 2 doors... one of which is this one, LHD. The other is a red '73 RHD but I've not seen a picture yet.

He's also got a Bob tail '74 two door but I'm not interested in that (Although I do have a picture if anyone's interested)

Anyway....... He's not mentioned a price yet...... what do you think??

There are two on the Bay for a few hundred quid in similar condition and a few restored at £20K +
not an easy one to guess at.........

I was offered a very solid unrestored 2 door which was the black/white number plate year, so 71 I think. It was £5000 if thats any help. The early black/white number plate ones fetch more apparently Thumbs Up

OK, assume the chassis is toast and factor in £2,700 for a fitted galv one.

The rest you can deal with as 'period' or 'patina' as long as it's original, has a story to tell, or is desirable.

Value is diffficult. Prices are only going one way right now. I'd say LHD keeps the price lower unless there's a worthwhile story there, or overseas interest keeps it buoyant.

I can't expel thoughts lower than £3,000, but if it's all there then you could be looking at maybe twice that. I really don't know. Si. <This is my name.

I reckon LHD could help bump the price up once restored - early Rangies fetch strong money in Europe - take a look at http://www.aclassics.nl

Don't forget over here as well. 2-doors were never officially imported here or in the States. That makes then very rare. Not as sought after as the elusive Defender, but something many Landy collectors would love to have.
