Strange bluetooth behaviour

Hi guys,

this may be a bit of a daft question but I'm a newbie owner. I have a 2007 with the upgraded bluetooth module and have 2 queries.

1 - sometimes my iPhone 4 connects automatically to the car other times it doesn't but here doesn't seem to be a pattern. Is this usual or is there someway of making it connect each time?

2 - I have noticed that if I am near the car on the phone it switches to the car. When I'm at work I often walk outside to take calls and get a bit of fresh air. If I walk anywhere near the car I lose the call on my phone and when I check the screen the audi source has changed from iphone to Landrover. I know the car takes a while for everything to power down but this has happened when the car has been stood for several hours. Is this usual? Does the bluetooth module retain a power source? Is it something I need to bother about or do I just make sure I don't walk near it when I'm on the phone?

Thanks in advance.

Number 2 has happened to me several times. I've been quite happily chatting away, only to find it's connected to the damn car and neither of us can hear one another! Rolling Eyes Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

If my memory serves me correctly the Bluetooth is on a permanent live so you have stay away from the car when your making a call, it's not a fault. There are issues with Bluetooth and iOS8

Thanks guys, at least I know it's not me. I haven't upgraded to iOS8 anyway so no issues there Smile
