Maybe the peel off sheet should be removed and copper grease then applied? Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Copper grease or it's ceramic/silicone replacements are used to dampen resonance so it is useful to apply to metal to metal sliding areas, the backing pad on the back of the pad is superior so leave that alone, try a little high temp grease on the edges of the pad, obviously keeping clear of the friction surfaces.

Did mine last week. No issues yet but I always use copper slip on the pads never removing the backing pad and also on the pad guides on the carrier. Time will tell. |

I think they were Pagid. Blue box. I've had them before and haven't had any problems with them |

Hi it could be the pad its-self, I fitted some Mintex pads to the rear of mine the other week and they are driving me nuts. They didn't have any backing on them and I'm beginning to think that this is my problem. I always dry fit my pads first to make sure that they don't bind in the calliper / pad bracket, sometimes rust on the surface can restrict the movement. And I have in the past, had some pads that were so heavily painted they refused to move until I'd cleaned the edges. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Not really fair of me to disrespect the competition, but I will stick to the facts.

A good read there, but I've got to ask, do the rear pads have a anti squeal backing from other manufactures, or is that I've got to strip it all out and clean and re-grease?

Thanks for that, looks like I'm going to save myself the headache of trying to get my pads to shutup and I'll be fitting some higher spec ones instead! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
