Oil Change time

Hi - as an update to my previous thread re the cost of the oil change service - i have another question.

It was a week ago when the oil change countdown on the dash started - well things are busy (thank god) and i didnt manage to book it in until the countdown was down to 0 miles.

It is going in this Wednesday for the oil change but am wondering , will i get lambasted for going under the countdown limit? Im currently on -15 miles due for oil change.

I would like to use the car over the weekend but am worried that more miles under the limit will cause issues when the car goes in - i.e. warranty e.t.c.

Going by my previous experiences with other manufacturer, going over a couple of hundred miles is not any real issue..better if you check with your dealer first ..

IIRC, LR warranty requires the service to be within 500 miles of the indicator. I wouldn't worry about it though. Just had my D3 done on its 45k service at almost 46k miles and an indicator saying over -500 and nobody would say 'boo' to the £1000's in warranty work which was done (New Windscreen, battery, complete tailgate. Ball joints, ARB's A-Frame ball joint etc.) Whistle

Just drive it until you get it serviced and stop looking at the display when you switch on! Wink The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I agree, I don't think they are that strict on these things, unless it was retrospective and you were putting in a warranty claim for a blown engine! Discovery 4 HSE
