Been reading a lot of reviews on the S's and they seem to have a fair amount of faults with them and into the bargain the best ones for sale are away down in Englandshire in the back of beyond areas ( nearest airports are miles away )

My tuppence worth... had a few mercs in the early 90,s couldnt fault them, bought a new s320cdi in 2002 and got rid of it within 6 months, most unreliable car ever and swore i wouldnt have another and have stuck to that. Looking recently for a motorway muncher and asking colleagues/friends who have them. Consensus seems to be Mercs are still unreliable and BMWs are great. That is from high mileage users with recent model vehicles. On a personal note I love the s class and have an old w140 which is great but you pays your money etc....... |

Widely known that the W140 was the last of the proper S class, after that model ended build time and quality went downhill like a runaway train, had a 2005 E320CDI moneypit, last straw was SBC pump going west, approx 2k from Merc & about 1400 from indy, bye bye Merc & hello TDV8, would not have another Merc |

I love these S-Class models and have been having incredibly guilty thoughts about buying one of late.
