Interior deep clean.

Stripped out the interior last night and today. I know that it broke down with the previous owner when the Olympics were on (July 2012), but looks like it hasn't had a clean in ages.

Took a couple of hours to get the passenger side and drivers foot wells from this,

To this.

Rear carpet to do, then trim panels, dash, door cards and seats. Should keep me busy for the next week or two.

I used an electric toothbrush to clean my door cards and seats using interior cleaner and leather care cream respectively.

Only had to do it once.

Didn't take all the car apart to do it though.

Obviously not committed enought !

Woah!, now I'm a little OCD but that is another level , fair play to you matey....try the Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner it brings leather back to life and after initial treatment I just use the conditioner twice a year maybe and it makes the leather/interior smell like a new leather interior for ages, I've used it for years on different vehicles and tried other products but none have bettered it for me Thumbs Up

So if you just put the drivers seat back in you will have created a proper rrs. A proper lightweight more nimble version of the ff. Should be quicker, corner better. Any issues will be much easier to fix.

Could even fit a roll cage......

I know, but when you are going to keep the motor, all being well for a few years, a good clean is a must.
It needs a really good clean in any case. There is that fine brown soil dust that gets everywhere, it is engrained into everything.
Some people must have more money than sense when it comes to cars. It hasn't been looked after well inside at all. Body work though has no supermarket dings, just the usual rust scabs on the upper tailgate door which will need painting at a later date.
After fitting the rear carpet and other items today, before I fitted (temporally) the drivers seat, I had a go with some Cillit bang black mould remover and a toothbrush. The difference is unbelievable.

They are. I don't know what they pack into them, the rear double seat is very heavy. Someone on here suggested taking it out through the back. A bit easier than through the side door opening.
Didn't have time to do the whole seat, but tried a small area to see if it was any good. Need some Gliptone leather conditioner before I do the whole seat. I recon at least 2 hours work on the drivers seat alone, but will be worth the time and effort.

Mould remover will have chlorine in it which probably won't help anything. Nylon brush and some all-purpose cleaner like Stardrops works well on dirty leather.
