I've had a L405 on loan for two days and if everything goes to plan, I should be the proud owner of this particular car next week.
I noticed some resonance inside the car and had read in some review that it was due to the aluminium structure. Has anyone else experienced this? It's not annoying really, it's faint but it's there, is this a design fault? Car has the 22inch wheels fitted, maybe that could be the cause?

I had the same issue on a 24 hour test drive recently I put it down tho the 22" wheels but either way it significantly dampened my enthusiasm for the new model

I don't have any resonance and I have 22s.

Or perhaps the tyres needed changing, alloy wheels were kerbed, apparently due to the low profile tyres, sidewalls were also damaged but not to the point it is dangerous said the dealer.
Andy, I thought my L322 was quieter with a softer ride but I happily trade some of that in for a more focused drive which the L405 is now offering.

LR have a warning on the config about road noise and ride when you spec a 22.

22"s and the tiny resulting sidewall seem entirely counterintuitive on a 4x4 unless you want to impress ya homies in da hood.

I think the 22 diamond turned wheels look good and give the car more feel in the twisty bits. I don't off road in the true sense of the word but I do dirt tracks and mountain roads in winter. There's a LR approved Conti winter tyre in 22 for those moments so I think it will be perfectly fine for my use.

No but they're not 'tiny' by any way shape or form. The 20" wheels on the l322 only have 1/2 inch or so more sidewall.

Tiny would be something sub 80mm any you might have a point on a rr.

Scraped wheels just reflect bad driving, cant blame the car for that.

If you want hard core off-roading then yes small wheels with massive treaded tyres are a must but the 22s with all weather tyres are more than capable and don't look too big '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale

I have 21" wheels.

There is a bit of a quiet, dull "thrummmm" at 85mph (on the autobahn) on certain (most) surfaces. A tiny bit more than tyre roar.

Is this the resonance?

Emperor, yes, that sort of does sound like it but in mine it seems to occur at/on most road speeds/surface types.

Yes that seems the same as I experienced although I only had the car for two days.
Not coming from the front in particular more from the chassis.
I found an older thread on this forum about the same problem, apparently it is the heat shield.
