Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong section.


I'm after a L322 and have seen one I may buy. However, when I look at it against another RR on the same site, in the same colour, the 54 plate TD6 looks different in size to the 04 plate 4.4V8. The TD6 has 20" wheels and the 4.4V8 has 19's. Is this what is causing the apparent difference is looks. The TD6 just looks so much chunkier.

I'm new to RR's and hope I don't ask too many silly questions.

So, if I was to get the same wheels and tyres, I could achieve the same sort of look/stance?

The TD6 as stated above has RRS wheels which opens a whole can of worms re insurance etc etc etc

Imho they don't look right with RRS wheels wheels on! Look great with 20's but they need to be FF wheels

Yes but there are much better wheel/tyre combinations out there that are more suitable

You would indeed, there are lots of wheel options available and it does not looks it it has had its ride height altered in any way. 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

I need to do some research on wheels and tyres. I don't want to compromise the ride comfort, so I should think 20" would be my target. If anyone can post any pictures or point me to a site with images/styles/information that would be greatly appreciated.

That set up on the black RR... Looks nice, but those tyres would take some pushing along fuel economy-wise.

in case you are not aware, the range rover sport wheels, are a different offset. so they sit wider on the car and so affect the 'steerability' they also have a different size tyre. there are a few sport wheel designs, that are the same problems on range rover 'vogue' or as we call them here 'FF's (full-fat)
if you buy some FF wheels from say, ebay, check that they are original land rover wheels, as they are built to land rover spec, as they are made to take the weight . also check they have the correct size tyres! mine are 255 50 20 you can fit slightly wider tyres
if you use replica, or aftermarket wheels, to your taste, consider what an insurer, might try to say, when you have an 'incident' and they don't want to pay out.
there are probably around ten designs of standard wheels, to choose from. from 18 inch through 19 and up to 20 inch. there are 22 inch wheels aftermarket, but these are weak, and are often found for sale in damaged condition, obviously only being sold by people that survived their 'incident'
keep looking at pictures, to find a set that is to your taste..
also, some designs are harder to keep clean. you will have to kneel to clean them, unlike others you bend over to wash fairly quickly. i'm sure someone here has a catalogue picture of the optional wheels. the six spoke wheels above (top pic) are standard early vogue wheels. I think they are 19 inch. later 7 spoke similar ones (silver range rover middle pic) are the later version vogue, on 20 inch. -fairly popular. take your time, as often people sell whole sets of 'take-off' wheels in new condition when they have an upgrade done.
lastly you can have kerb damaged wheels repainted for about £250 a set but you often find good sets with tyres for about £500.
p.s. there is/are somewhere on here, a couple of checklists compiled for the new buyer to look out for , they are long lists. and are a bit scary! but top of your list (in my opinion, is the gearbox....
