did you replace the two sensors , if not thats whats probably causing the error.. ... - .- -.

And I am also told it is possible to put the sensors back incorrectly, but never done it so can't elaborate I'm afraid.

Hi Stan, so if I'm getting this right, once the Bong has gone off the sensor is carput and also needs to be changed. Which does pose the question why make then removable in the first place? I know that the rear sensor is ok, cos the pads weren't even half worn, but as it was all apart I changed them anyway.

No. If you cut them they will go open circuit which will just leave the fault showing.

No, if you cut the wire it will flag up low brake pads, you need to ensure it's fitted correctly and not worn, if that doesn't fix it it's a wiring issue, usually poor connections in the little black box in the wheel arch where the sensor goes in...

Removing the sensor doesn't cure it. Ask me how I know. |

The check brake pad message comes up when the circuit is open circuit.

That's what I thought, it looks only to be a single wire, unless it is a very thin coax. Most cars that I have dealt with have a single wire that shorts to earth when the pads are worn, but they do go on and off with the use of the bakes. It would appear that either the sensor is connected by a thin coax or when the ecu sees the first short to earth, it stays on and drives you mad! this would then require a reset from a fault code reader to put the light out, only mine reads it and then dose nothing. I know the pads were worn the car keeps telling me, I dont need the |

trying to rest it without replacing the sensor won't clear it as the fault is still there. When you replace the sensor the fault should clear by switching the ignition on and off.

Sensor is cheap and easy, just snapped mine replacing some part worn pads and have to get a new one! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
