Granted Alu doesn't rust but it still reacts and goes nasty Sad like at defender doors and other alu bits Sad

Specially in areas where steel bolts bolt into the shell electrolytic corrosion will be a hell of a problem in 5-10years+

Absolutely. One plus with Al over Fe is aluminium oxide will stick and form a barrier. Flaky rust means that rusting accelerated. I think Al oxidation is more constant. I won't be happy with either, but I'm not sure how to get the panels off to see. Shocked

Look under the sills, there are recesses with two piece trim clips, prise out the center piece, then remove the outer piece, the sill will now be free at the bottom, open both doors, sharply pull the sill away from the car starting at the back, it is on several push clips but they are tight, a sharp pull is better than a gradual one as you can bend the sill if you just pull it... It will pop off, then go to the front door and do the same, you then slide it out from under the rubber strip on the bottom of the plastic lower wing/fender piece, refit is reversal but several of the push fit clips will have broken so you may need to get some more from the dealer....

Get some cavity rust protection as there are loads of grommets where you can fill the sill up... Pete

It is best practice to remove the front wing lower panels before you remove the side sill covers as there are clips that won't release with the panels in place sir Bow down Bow down Bow down Thumbs Up
