new to me L322 my first!

Sorry no pics yet but after looming on here for quite a while and hankering after one for ages it seems i have taken the plunge.

2010 3.6tvd8 VSE should be with me end of the week, Its got pretty much everything i wanted (apart from the miles!) bar RSE.

Any suggestions on good aftermarket RSE?

Welcome... Thumbs Up Looking forward to seeing the photos.

iPads on headrest mounts is the way the L405 has gone...mebbe look at that as it gives greater flexibility?....Others will be along with more permanent / fixed solutions I am sure...or take a look in the relevant ICElectronics section under the Home tab Thumbs Up

Welcome aboard. Sounds like my motor! I haven't bothered with the RSE, but I don't have kids, so no real need. Seems the I-pad mount is the way to go anyway, that way passengers can watch what they want.

What colour combo is yours? Mine is a 2010 VSE in Buckingham Blue with ivory semi analine leather. The cooled seats really are the muts nuts!

Welcome!

I have the same car, 2010 VSE with no RSE and 2 nippers aged 3 and 8. I am pleased it doesn't have RSE. Got 2 iPad mounts from ebay (£9 each) , a dual charging cable and plug from ebay (£Cool and 2 x £100 iPads (1 is a ipad1, the other and iPad2, same price). I use software to convert all their films compressed so they have a selection of 10 kids films, apps and games and as I have the EE 'in car WiFi Spot', they have 4G wireless access where possible too. (total cost - £231)

Kids are happy as pigs in Muck. 6 hours in one go recently to Devon is testament to it, and totally future proofed!

I had the Rosen rear entertainment fitted, my kids love it because they can watch individual movies (separate DVD player in each headrest) and also play arcade games on the move. As they get older no doubt an upgrade to a play station or similar will be requested!

I really wanted RSE and always prefer the factory fitted option but I have to say the flexibility the Rosen affords is fantastic.

Considered iPads but my kids would have wanted to hold them to play games and looking down for several hours always makes them car sick, so although they aren't actually as flexible as iPads I rate the Rosen system highly for real world use and the wireless headsets and games controllers even look good enough to pass as factory fitted to the uninitiated.

Deffo worth considering. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

Grey and black

Cheers for the replies, i concur totally, we used to play I spy, and currently do the same! we regularly do a 4-5hr trip and novelty is going to wear off soon - next year or so i reckon!

ebay Ipad links and ideas are great thank you, will look through them, i am not an ipad man really (we dont have one in the house) but will get my head into it.

Rosen - yep had seen them, wasnt sure about about all the options they gave and what each option actually did! nothing states it on their website so awaiting response from them.

I have RSE in ours and it's great. Didn't have it in our old Disco 3 and had an iPad on the back of the passenger seat and it was great.

Hello James, small world - we've just bought a 2010 model grey/black L322 (but with a 5.0 S/C rather than a TDV8). They're fantastic cars - you'll love yours. Oh, and before you ask, no it is not finished yet Wink

Instead of iPad, I would like to suggest the Android based tablets. Cheaper and more versatile IMHO. I am the Windows/Android person in the house and my wife and oldest are Apple. Wife does have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom though Smile.

We found that iPad can't do certain things due to the way they are built and on several occassions the only option was the Galaxy.

Since they are cheaper and give you much more functionality than the iPad, they are a better choice as RSE IMHO. Get them with a good BT headset for each kid and you are in business for a lot cheaper than any RSE plus that you have much more functionality out of them.

Great car by the sounds of it, look forward to the pics Smile.

I would always go tablet iso RSE. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Oh and since I don't have a Nav system in the X-trail and Malaysia/Singapore maps for the FFRR are non-existent (ridiculous), I use my Galaxy Note 10.1 as Nav system as well. Bought Sygic worldwide / lifetime (TomTom maps) and use it as my "offline" Nav system (at night with the HUD feature, very cool !).

Also a very good feature of a tablet. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
