My wifes 2008 FFRR Supercharged has for the past few days been emitting a strong gas smell when started that goes away after driving a few minutes. My dealer does not have a clue. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Thx!

By gas, do you mean petrol? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

of course he means petrol , his location and the spelling of odor sort of gives the clues that the gent isn't from round these parts

edited to add , to the OP get it checked out promptly the last thing you need is an engine bay fire

Check the High & Low Pressure fuel rails I had a minute leak on a TDV8 once sent out a smelly fine mist. Quite cheap to fix....

Oops that was for a TDV8 diesel

stop feeding her beans they always give me gas with a bad smell in the FF

To me it sounds like overfuelling at start up. Better get fault codes read.

Also has the Engine Management ECU been updated with the latest software and have you run injector cleaner through.

It could be there is a temp sensor issue or MAF or MAP that makes the ECU think there is more air going in or the temp is lower than it is, that makes it overfuel.

Or there is a problem with a slight leak on injectors that lets fuel drip into one or more of the combustion chambers and the burns of quickly.

It could be the catalytic converters not being right anymore or the oxygen sensors.

It could be the fuel system needing a thorough clean (done on mine plus replaced).

So a number of potential issues and not all of them are expensive, I would suggest to start with the cheapest and work your way up to the more expensive ones  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
