2016 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

I'm with Tug on this one - wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. The British car buying public is obsessed with low mileage and don't realise the damage doing a low mileage is as bad as a high mileage.

The car has sat around for 6 years doing 100 miles a month with fluids barely moving around the system - hoses which will be drying out and perishing, stagnant fuel getting sucked into the injectors. Tyres perishing and needing replaced (replace rubber at 6 years old), turbo seals perishing, condensation building up in the cats from cold starts and never getting up to operating temperature, suspension bushes drying out - Cars wear out with high mileage but low mileage treatment will wear a car out as badly - the life expectancy of components which need lubricated or movement is low when they aren't being lubricated or moved on a regular basis.

The first time that car does a 400 mile motorway trip it will go into shock! I reckon its a money pit and not just from the premium price! Current Fleet:-
2018 Discovery 5 3.0 HSE
2021 Ford Ranger Wildtrack
2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt 5.0 V8

^ My point exactly. Mr nicksaab !

I suspect from your username you may have run a leggy Saab before . . . .
I previously used a Volvo S70 T5 at work in the police in the Peak District. The car was used relentlessly for over three years in what can be a pretty ruthless environment due to topography and weather.
It was de commissioned at around 170 thousand miles and never needed anything other than (correct) regular servicing, and thus was retired in perfect running order. New front tyres every month, however . . . . Whistle

I'm certainly not averse to mileage and you're right in mentioning this obsession in the UK with low mileage.

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

I expect you both have high mileage cars lol. Been there and had high milers, and niggling issues, but have gone the other way with a very low mileage for now, no issues so far (touch wood) personnel choice, pay your money, and a bit of a lottery how much more you will have to spend. The gearbox issues are so well documented there's no denying getting miles on and the risk of failure increases. I expect this will get some response from high mile owners that they haven't spent a penny on their cars.
As I said, show me a car that doesn't ware out with miles and I'll buy it! Laughing
