Fronts done, no problem
Rear - cant get the disc off. Hand brake released.
What am i missing
I assume the hole in the disc has something to do with it

Im planning to do this too. I understand there is an inspection hole. This is to wind back epb mechanism so you can remove disc. Im not sure exact process here but be careful to wind correct way. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Sorted, put the wee hole ot 6 o'clock and adjust the shoes "in"
disc comes off.
fit new bits and adjust shoes back out

I'm planning to do rears discs soon. Just not clear on inspection hole bit / EPB . What do I need to do exactly ?  Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Once you have the wheel, caliper and caliper carrier off, remove the small black plug from the rear disc between two wheel studs.

The access hole needs to be at about 6 o'clock or 5:30/6:30 (depending on which side, but slightly to the rear of the car) so that you can insert a flat-blade screwdriver.

When you insert the screwdriver, you're feeling for a toothed screw. This screw pushes the handbrake shoes out towards the centre drum part of the rear disc and ensures the shoes don't have too much travel to grab the drum.

Depending on how much wear there is in your rear handbrake, you need to pull the shoes inwards to stop them catching on any lip on the brake drum.

So adjust the toothed screw to contract the shoes, remove the disc and don't forget to open the shoes out again once the new disc is on.

I did mine two days ago and the rears were easier than the fronts which had seized bolts on the carriers.

Hi,

I managed to do mine too.
Unfortunately I didn't wind the shoes back out enough so the handbrake isn't working.
I'll need to take the wheels off to adjust them again

When you have fitted new discs run the pad bedding in cycle, instruction on rave, an handbrake will work much much better.  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
