Italy 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

L322 for me it's THE range rover : you understand the 405 only when close, otherwise is freelander...ish !

for sure tha car is fantastic, but for me is too 'fashionist' : try to look at the front of a ford edge...

we'll see in ten years..(expenses bills permitting)

It's just the sense of occasion with a Range Rover.

It's the best at what it does.

I had a 3.9 efi Classic and a BMW M5 at the same time and figured I'd covered all bases.

I skipped the P38 in favour of a Disco 2 ES and don't regret it. P38 looked too much like a London taxi for my liking.

L322 is the perfect modern re imagination of the old classic.

I keep hankering to swap mine for an Audi RS6 avant, but not sure it'll get me to work in the snow as well.......

That is why. I love being in my L322. It is such a spacious, perfectly laid out interior. I'm 6'3" and it is always nice to walk up to the big clamshell hood and open that large door and hop in my Range Rover which dwarfs me. I can go on and on about how much I love my Rangie. Thumbs Up

Am I the only person with a black /piano black interior who prefers the cherry wood ? although I think Teak would be even better , I know light interiors are very nice and preferable but I have kids and that picture just says it all to me about what I like the most with the L322 preferable. 2008 MY Supercharged

I'm considering a cherry wood kit, I'm going off the grand black.

I've got a 07 sc but also have a S320 cdi lwb with all the extras (radar sat nav etc) and other cars. I always go for the FFRR's keys, it's my comfort zone ....

Has been my dream car for so damn long and now I have it , have thrown a small fortune at it , some was well spent and some wasn't but after buying the style 11's from RRUK and spending time cleaning up the exhaust pipes it just looks awesome Thumbs Up

Had a P38 for 3 years and loved every minute of it, (would have another), then got the L322, much more modern, more comfort more stylish, more toys, bigger inside and out.

As a car (which is all it is!) you can do everything you might want to do in a car Wink with the confidence that it will do it, whether you are out on the motorway, in a muddy field, towing a horse trailer, in the snow, in the rain, filling up the boot with a ton of logs, posing Embarassed , great visibility (see and being seen!), "respect" ( Whistle ) from other road users, doormen at 5 star hotels, country clubs.

Also, easy to work on from an access point of view.

Next car will probably be a 2012-ish L322 Thumbs Up .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Not so much an l322 "thing" for me but a land rover " thing". It all started for me in about 97 when I was ten with my mother at the local LR dealer when she was eyeing up a discovery, as a ten year old I thought this car was amazing, the climb up into it, being able to see soo much more than I could before and that 2nd sunroof, wow I was hooked.

Sadly we didn't end up with a disco but I treasured the sales brochure that the salesman had supplied, I still remember them to this day, it was a light green disco driving on a snow covered mountain road on the cover & inside a blue disco driving through a waterfall!!

As the years went on a got a job after leaving school at a garage and worked on a few old land rovers and just got taken in by the charm, it wasn't until I was 20 I bought a v8 3.9i discovery, with the two sun roofs and I was like a dog with 2 dicks. Some poly bushes, a k and n filter and full stainless exhaust meant it sounded amazing, went reasonably well and could do so much more than my mates with they're corsas and saxos. Drives through fields, beaches getting it lagged in mud etc was great fun at 20!!! Insurance and fuel consumption killed the dream though, but a few years later I bought a 3.5i four door classic.

Now the classic is something else, it's got the practicality of a disco but is better at it, ok it was slower than the 3.9 but the noise was good the handling was comfortable, I would jump in have plenty of room, plenty of visibility, it looked good wherever I left it, looked smart with horse box on the back, and just as smart parked up in tesco. I loved the real wood on the door cards and the soft teddy bear type seats, the way the doors shut with a thud and the spring tension on the door handles gave a reassuring click, as you drove along it would seemingly glide along in comfort listening to the engine doing its thing, after about six months in the classic I remembered why I got rid of the disco, the fuel consumption was a killer, average about 12mpg so I went looking for a diesel p38...

I knew little about the p38 when I bought one, I bought the first one I seen, with not much history and various problems but got a good deal and went with it, have had it about four years now, and still love driving it, I have covered over 200 miles in it today and it's been great, it still looks good, I seen 2 people in the pub car park this lunchtime admiring it and just think what other nearly 20 year old non performance cars would still get admiring looks in a car park? I drive brand new cars on a daily basis and rate my p38 just as good to drive if not better than some of the 30k motors I drive at work. I don't know what makes it soo good, but for me it ticks every box, oh but wait a minute, it did tick every box and then along came an l322..

Soooo the l322, I've seen them around for last ten years starred at the sexy cherry wood trim and the fancy buttons on the steering wheel, I mean heated steering wheel? Really?! I drove one for the first time last week, oh my, and I thought the p38 was good, in my short test drive of an l322 I can conclude it has taken everything that is good on a p38 and refined it to the next level. The gear change is improved, the brakes, the stereo, the lighting everything is the same, but better. As of yet my l322 is still undergoing repair work but will be on the road soon and having had a taster I can't wait. The only thing to be sad about is I have found a better car than my p38, an l322.

Sorry David but i do not agree... When released, the P38a was a massive step forward from the VERY aged classic! As was the L322 BUT.......... And it's a BIG controversial BUT!!! I personally was disappointed with the 405... NOT the massive step forward i was hoping it would be!

i have had a 6 week L405 TdV8 VSE £90k as a courtesy car while my 2011 4.4 tdv8 is getting some warranty work done.
a very once car but i just cannot get over how poorly thought out the suspension and centre console / screen are.
i am really surprised that the L405 owners think there is a massive technological/comfort jump from the late L322.
IMO there is NOT….and i now understand what a lot of 405 owners are complaining about the knocking suspension.
i love the space, seating position and the large amount of glass on the L322.
L405 …a really nice car but massively flawed ….hopefully LRJ will iron out the problems.
