Tips on buying a Westminster

Hello,

I have been on the RRSport website for several years but following an RTA which resulted in my Sport being written off I am off in search of a 12 or 62 plate Westminster. I have read the great generic buying guide on this site - are there any tips for what to look for on the Westminsters. As end of production models I guess they had worked out how to build them - unlike my early MY10 Sport! Were there any TSB's or recalls I should look for?

Many thanks

Singe

Hi, we have recently bought a Westminster after having a Sport before. It's a great car and most importantly, still under factory warranty.

2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green

Seems to be a premium attached to them which the spec doesn't justify.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

My advice, don't rule out a late vogue se, my mate bought a new Westminster and at the same time I bought a new Vogue se, both are 12 plate and 12MY, off the top of my head his lacks, cameras, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, RSE, home link etc and he paid more for his. So I would look at age and spec rather than getting hung up on it being a Westminster . 12MY Black FF VSE
12MY Orkney Grey HSE Lux RRS

I did look at the SE but really wanted as low mileage as possible. I have found a 62 plate Westminster - I will miss adaptive cruise (which I had on the Sport) as well as dynamic mode for twisty roads but iPads have replaced RSE and I rarely used the cameras on the Sport - although when I did they were very useful. I have been in an 11 plate Vogue as a hire car for the last month I can easily trade those gadgets for the 4.4 TDV8. The Vogue does 500 miles plus on a tank whereas that 3.0 TDV6 in the sport did less than 400 and it drives so much better (and there seems to be about a £10 difference in filling the Vogues tank) - I hate the 3.0 TDV6 engine - it is simply awful - it is tuned with such a narrow torque band that even with the 8 speed box it is no match for the TDV8 accelerating at speed. I had a 3.6TDV8 RRS before and that was great.
