2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Epsom Green
Hesitation when pulling away gently, ok when more aggressive

Hi all,

2002 - 4.4 V8

Has anyone experienced the engine hesitating when pulling away? This happens when pulling away from rest when using light throttle movement. If I'm more aggressive then all is fine. This can also occur when accelerating from a low cruising speed, if the engine RPM is low (1500+/-) before you begin to accelerate.

The common denominator seems to be the accelerating from low engine speed.

My vehicle is converted to LPG, this issue is noted when running on either petrol or LPG. The engine has covered roughly 12'000 miles from new (replacement engine from LR, not rebuild)

Strangely, I have a friend with a 1974 VW Camper van, which over the weekend has developed the same fault. If both issues are similar in anyway, then perhaps the warm weather has something to do with it?

Any ideas of suggestions welcome.

Many thanks,
Matt

Thanks for the suggestions, I was thinking PCV valve related after reading some posts online.

I'll have a look in to it.

Would anyone have a simple/recommended way of carrying out a smoke test?

Many thanks.
Matt
