Service at and from Stratstone (Bury) unacceptable

Vehicle booked in for Service under 2 year Service Plan yesterday. On arriving home, parts that should have been replaced under the agreement have NOT been replaced and parts that they said they have changed have also NOT been replaced. I also asked them to change the Crank Case Filter because it wasn't included in the service which they did, however to remove two screws and change the filter (estimated to be a 5 mins job if they had have changed the air filter as per the service) cost me me 120 pounds on top of the price for the service (if you could call it that)!!!! Spoke to Service Advisor who said he would call me back.....still waiting! Also spoke the reception this morning who advised me that the Head of Service would call me back.......STILL WAITING! This maybe a joke to them to play around with customers but I am thoroughly disappointed with the whole situation. Has anyone else had similar issues with Stratstone (Bury)?

No, but that's bloody shocking, I would email the dealer principal a link to this thread and tell him to get his teams arse in gear sharpish before it escalates !

Strath stones lol one of the biggest crooks and thieves out of main stealers , heard many many tales being in the trade and I know a friend who just took 4k for a 56plate disco in mint nick px for a poxy freelander, people will never learn these type of huge dealers don't give a Censored about anything except money and while there's so many privates paying way over the odds for poor service it will never change these places give me the Censored all because it looks shiny and nice there far from it , rant over Evil or Very Mad _____________________________________________________

Hi, Thanks for your support. You would think as this is the same dealer that I bought the car from and thinking paying for 2 years service at the time of original vehicle purchase that they would honor the contract that is in placed. I will not be letting this matter drop with the dealer. However this may have to wait until I return to the UK in 1 weeks time.

Forget main dealers and get your car to AJR Motor Engineering in Oldham - they are a small, independent garage who happen to be Range Rover enthusiasts!!

Trustworthy, great service and reasonably priced!! They have just invested a significant amount of money in new diagnostic kit (latest Autologic) - they can do everything a main dealer can do and more (like turning the damn TPMS off!)

I have no affiliation with them, I'm just a happy customer for the last two years 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Agree with GraemeC re AJR. Superb professionals... and good guys Thumbs Up

Turning to Stratstone, Bury and the fact that the OP has an ongoing contract with them; and is a customer who bought the car from them.

Sounds like a frustrating disappointment and that mistakes have been made re Francy that probably should and can be righted.

. . . From my own personal experience with another Stratstone Land Rover dealer, forget the monkey & go for the organ grinder.
I bypassed the Stratstone hierarchy and wrote to Land Rover directly - who were very interested & attentive.
Ultimately, Land Rover then referred it back downhill to Stratstone.
I was well compensated but believe it was the Land Rover "big stick" which sorted it out.
Stratstone aren't Land Rover - they merely have the privilege of representing the brand.
Land Rover are very keen to protect that -

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

As GC said forget them.

Stratstones have been documented before to do such things across the country so dont think its an isolated incident.

Try LR UK Cust Services as this needs pulling up more often than happens and just think how many cars have a stratstone stamp in that arent even worth the stamp ink... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Update to this issue

Just thought I would let everyone know that this matter has now been resolved. However, not so sure that Stratstone Bury will be my preferred garage going forward. Thanks again for all your support. Francy

Im surprised to read you bought your 2004 TD6 from Stratstone's, obviously in the last two years as you have a 2 year Service Plan... Thought yours would fall outside the age of car available from a Stratstone's main agent...

Absolutely no offence meant my friend Thumbs Up

Another thoroughly recommended independent is Steve Parker Land Rover in Whitworth Rochdale. A fully paid up member of the all things Land Rover fan club. Service and prices are excellent. Steve has been going for 30 odd years. No hesitation in recommending him.

Also for a main dealer recommendation. Williams Land Rover Manchester. They are excellent for a main dealer. Thumbs Up Tony

No offence taken. Vehicle was purchased with only 40,000 miles / one previous owner, and was offered the 2 year warranty as part of the purchase package. Francy.
