Nice one, that is about the ballpark price of what I paid. Just as a heads up, a mate had a V8 Jeep which he took a WD warranty out on and they sent someone out to inspect it who advised a small leak off the steering box, so that was put down as a pre exisiting condition. About a month later it went in to the Jeep garage for a service and they said the steering box was 100% OK and not leaking so WD just took it off as an existing condition there and then.

Is this the one advertised by Quentin Wilson. If it is, they made my mate jump through hoops to claim for a replacement TD6 gearbox. Wouldn't take the findings of an Independent land rover mechanic , sent there own man who still wasn't happy even though the vehicle had no gears !! He then wanted a strip down at owners cost so that a third engineer could look at it. Mean while he sent copy after copy of service history and bills but having bought it used, couldn't offer a great deal from it's early days which greatly concerned them. They coughed up in the end but only after the threat of legal action. |

DaveK...that's "Warrantywise" but they'll all want to be sure its legit to a more or lesser degree, but have heard WD play fair when I have googled them...only time will tell GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

I have to make a decision in the next few days between the LR Extended, LR Select or, indeed, Warranty Direct. Although WD seems to cover most things they only cover 70% of the cost of parts (reducing to 60% when the FF has its birthday in October). Any thoughts?

nwmgc ...You can pay a small extra premium to take you up to 100% Parts and 100% Labour cover..If you get an online quote then ring them, you seem to get a negotiated deal but you may need to pay to have the car inspected then @ £40

The FF got inspected by Scotia on behalf of Warranty Direct this morning and........got a full clean bill of health (as I expected having just had a service and MOT)..As it happens, the chap who came to inspect it has just got a 59 plate Sport himself so we ended up waffling for an hour about the various issues of ownership.

I am now up to £780 for the warranty + £100 to get 100% on the parts + £70 inspection fee = £950
