Front End protection and winch mount (Bull bar)

Hi guys, I know this is predominately a UK based site but I am trying to raise interest in convincing manufactures of Australia that developing an airbag compliant bull bar for the L322 is a good idea.

http://www.aulro.com/afvb/l322-range-rover...nally.html

I know shipping is the biggest issue with getting large items abroad but its good to get the message out there.

If you are interesting say something[/url]

Sounds like a good idea if enough people are interested. Personally hAve no use for one though.

One thing to be wary of is the front axle loadings esp on the tdv8, it is quite close to the upper limit on the tdv8 which is why there is no winch available for it from LR. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I don't think an Oz style bull bar would be legal in the UK . Might be wrong but you certainly couldn't sell them . 2008 MY Supercharged

Did you build it Ken? As it says above the winch was not a factory option on a TDV8 & then your rocks up with one on Whistle

I am interested. I have been looking at doing something along these lines - tho I was going to try to go for a more L322-ish look than the angly generic winch bumper.

Construction in aluminum would allow a weight savings if done properly, but costs are easily 25% more.

Chaybra, I've sent you a PM w/my mail address. Please keep me updated.

The cradle was OEM FR for the L322 early one a few tweaks and there you go Thumbs Up

And yes LR said it could not be done (a bit of a red rag to an engineer that statement Rolling with laughter )

What "tweeks" were required to modify the mountings? We are trying to combine the mounting systems for all the L322's from 03 to 12 ideally. and reports from the parts department is that the front bumper cross member support (Metal bit behind the bumper) is all the same part number.

The images given for the Nissan patrol are just an example of the companies workmanship, the design of the bar itself would be L322 bespoke,

Here is an example of another jeep bar they have designed just to demonstrate there versatility.

Dear Ken,

the winch on the TDV8 looks fantastic, I drive a MY 2007 TDV8 and as we are using it off road, I really would like to install a wicngm however it should also look great, such as yours does. Do I understand correctly that you ordered the OEM winch kit (whereas it states it is not suitable for the TDV8) and you only had to do some minor adjustments? Could you provide me with a OEM order number? I see several versions on the internet.

Hope you can assist, looks fantastic!

Thx Salan

They don't look too bad. Have a look at these pix I took a few years back at Sydney's LR Expo. It's a modified ARB D2 bar I believe.

I can't work out how to post images from Picasa anymore so you'll need to look at the album.

I had Ken's winch off him a long time ago

If I remember correctly you will need to cut a small piece out of one of the side mounting plates to clear the intercooler or something like that , it's completely obvious when you fit it where you need to remove it from

I think there is only one version for the facelift / TD6 winch version onto no6 Range Rover

Everyone needs a hobby
