United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

I agree with Gaz's original comment, I really liked the 993 Targa when they made it but this 991 version is fantastic, might even have to go and do a fantasy spec on the configurator now! 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

I went to the launch of this at the Porsche centre in Portsmouth. their allocation for the year was one!!
It's lovely though and the roof mechanism is a work of art. I had a 996 4S and this is the first one I've wanted since. Regards

It does look nice but to me that roof mechanism is rediculous. To have all that going on for a single fold out panel just seems crazy - and it adds 100kg - to a sports car!

Here's a question for you - how is it better than the 997 targa that is lighter, simpler, takes up way less space, and leaves you with much more space for people/luggage? It even works as a hatch to drop luggage in.

Because it LOOKS 100 times better and that's part of what counts for me Thumbs Up

The 997 is NOT a targa as the drivers area always has side roof bars. Its just a big sunroof. Rubbish Whistle

I think this is the coolest Porsche for a very long time....

It does look better, but it's a fine line between sports cars and fashion statements, and fashion statements become girls cars. E.g. SLK, Z3 and maybe even the Boxter.

Sorry, I just can't take it seriously.

Your choice but I absolutely love it Thumbs Up

IMO more going back to roots than fashion statement. Worst part of my old Targa was the manual Roof panel so for me the new system is well worth a few extra pounds...

Well I can't disagree with that. My VX220 is a manual targa and I would prefer to press a button. I just wouldn't want it to weiggh 100kg though.

I would rarely be pushing it to its limits so a few extra kg are fine. I think your car is in a different category to the new Targa and is designed for max ride thrill and minimum weight bit like a Lotus 7 etc.

Black and Tan with the alloy Targa hoop is the colour choice though IMHO. Regards

The Convertible looks Good but not so much with the top up. I think even top up the Targa looks so much better than the Roadster or Convertble:
