The really galling thing is that this has been a problem for 44 years and the tailgates STILL rust badly. |

Thanks Dan, that is better than I was expecting, although its still going to cost > £1,000 to sort properly with spraying and swapping the glass and electrics over |

How bad is it on a 2007 car? Surely a good bodyshop can cut any metal which is done out weld in a new bit, coat the full tailgate with a rust treatment and fill and profile leaving it looking as good as new and rust free? Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White
