Aha, you've looked at my car details in my profile, which I haven't updated since buying a 2007 car!

i'd thought it would be to much trouble fitting an OE cam..what about these wireless reverse cameras from maplins for instance. ... - .- -.

I don't really want to spam something up with aftermarket stuff. Just after knowing what bits I need to get so I can see if it's worth it. I'm not afraid of doing the installation assuming there isn't some reason why it can't be done at all. |

The camera and bracket are easy enough but the charging dock will be difficult , the loom even harder but the real problem would be re writing the car configuration files to accept the companion camera . I'm sure its possible like every thing is possible but,,,, 2008 MY Supercharged

I have an iid tool so the ccf is doable. I think I saw it in there the other day but would have to check.

Gap diagnostic site lists the venture cam as a configuration item, so that seems to be a non issue (assuming it works!).

The loom and docking cradle are hard well its the loom , I'm pretty sure previous people in your situation have found out that Land Rover won't sell it but you could always try a breakers but it still comes down to the CCF or Car Configuration Files although you can see it on your IID you wont have the actual software written in it has to be done when the car was built , who knows what will be possible in the future but right now an IID cant put that there .

Axle, can you link me to some threads either here or on other sites where someone has tried to retro fit a venture cam in a range rover and come across these issues, as when I searched I was unable to find any (hence my posting of this thread in the first place). |

No I didn't bother in the end. I only wanted to be able to see back to my trailer whilst towing so just used the test mode for the reversing camera in the end. |
