Luckily not the steering wheel one....
Driving home yesterday and there's an almighty bang from the front off side, then the corner dropped to low rider stance...
Something not right there I think (I'm a bit quick like that)
Then the front came back up but did a hissing Sid impression on the way home...
Air bag has a vertical split in it about an inch long and more worryingly there was water around the hole and on the inner wing, not much, maybe a couple of spoons full...
Must have sucked in more than I thought on its recent swimming trip...
Now, could a small amount of water have increased the pressure enough to blow the bag or would it not make any difference, can any one who knows more than me about physics (not hard) answer this.
It's had new bags at some point, but I bet they were the cheaper Dunlop ones so maybe it's just coincidence...
I'll get a pair of Delphi's but the pain will be taking off the rears as well as the tank and valves to dry the system out...
It sat overnight and is now quite low all round and the battery was down to 7volts so I guess it's tried to level itself all night...
Battery on charge as I type and ramp space being begged for a few days to get all the system off and dried....
Steep learning curve, off-roading a 322.... Never mind it's only money!!!!
On a positive note the snorkel is coming along, got hold of a D4 one and have just made a buck for the air inlet at the front behind the inner wing, had to go from a circle to an oblong right angle, should have sufficient airflow but as soon as I've taken a mould from the buck and made the piece I'll try it out and compare the short term fuel trims to see if it's running rich... Then it's just a pipe from it to the snorkel upright which only needs minor mods to fit... Pete
