Hello whoami ....did you mean the rubberised straps that support the lower tailgate when it's open?....if so, this thread may be of interest

Ahh..the gas struts that hold the upper tailgate up and open....yes, as prop said, most surprising on a 2012 car...me be worth a trip to the. LR main dealer to see if you can make a corrosion warranty claim. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

My struts are over 7 years old and no rust on mine so would say yours are definitely worth mentioning to the LR dealer and hopefully they will be replaced. |
