Tbh i think the turbo issues in the tdv8 are fairly rare in well serviced cars, and were more common in the sport. Plenty of people run them into high milage without problems. Obviously there will be exceptions to the rule....

If you don't want a FFRR or a TDV8 it's a discovery 4. There are a lot of XS model's on the market sub £25k and if you are not wanting to have the latest tech, it's only being used for towing and weekends....I'd get a late build D3 HSE with low mileage, have it remapped and book some holidays with the change....

Why not get a Disco 3 4.4 V8 if its not going to get used much the MPG difference isnt a biggy and more solid engines?

If you like the L322, but don't want a TDV8 and the 5.0 SC is too much, what about 4.2 SC, or the 4.4 nonSC AJV8 models? Even the non-Supercharged one has a LOT of get up and go. I really like my 4.4 AJV8. |
