Swirl mark removal??

I've been using the same kit and products on my car for years now and appreciate that everyone finds different things work well, even better, as technology marches on.

I use a DA polisher with a 6" velcro flexible backing plate, and mainly use Meguiars retail products such as the 3 stage paint system

My Santorini paint has light swirls still which I want to get rid of, and I could do with some some pads for the polisher too. These days there's now micro fibre pads, ridged foam, flat foam...I'm getting confused!

Can anyone suggest some new modern products I can look into? Discovery 4 HSE

There is always detailingworld.co.uk for some good guides.

Tend to buy my stuff from the site sponsers there as they offer 5-10% discount.

I know I sound like a broken record.... Laughing Laughing (not that it will stop me)

I use the Hexlogic with P1 and P2 as they are non-reducing so you get a reasonable even 'cut' as you go.

I got all the swirls out and even most of the RDS. For really deep scratches, you would be best (depending on now regularly the previous owner polished it) getting a paint detective. -The cheap gauges are not much use.

As I mentioned earlier though, Silver with a couple of different types of light source is hard on the eyes, your black will be easier- and will also look better when done.

Hex Logic pads for me at the moment. When they need replacing I will try something else. However I have seen some superb paint correction on detailing world using different pads and polish combo's.

Luckily for me my wife never looks after her car so I try all my new products on that first before going anywhere near the RR. Travelling around in circles again.

I ended up buying Meguiars again but the Ultimate range, compound, polish and wax.

Have experimented tonight after a wash and clay mitt, did the bonnet and all by hand and not the DA, the compound is awesome, the panel looks like new compared to the swirl marks before. I've got some new DA pads arriving tomorrow which will improve no end. Discovery 4 HSE

Here's the bonnet after using the products shown. It's like wet black glass.

Its just right, abrasive enough to get rid of bloom, blemishes, light scratches and swirls but not like T Cut!

The Ultimate range are SO easy to use, and no powder residue at all. Amazing stuff. Discovery 4 HSE

Meguiars products are very, very good in my view. Thumbs Up

I used to use the 3-Stage on our old black Saab 9000 and was never let down by the finish they gave.

Bonnet looks great. If only black stayed looking that clean. Crying or Very sad Si. <This is my name.
