I need to replace my tyres and was wondering what is considered a good tyre amongst us. I currently have Michelin Diamaris on, which seem pretty good. I'm liking the rim protector on them as well.
I've been out of the game for a good few years now, and never really investigated the 4x4 market when I worked in the industry, so I don't know one from another.

Some of the guys over on RRSport have been buying Hankooks to replace the Craptinentals their Sports were delivered with -they happened to be a whole lot less expensive than Craptinentals (they wear the shoulders extremely quickly on RRS's) and Pirellis. Personally I was very happy with the Pirelli Assymetricos that were on my TDv8 RRS,they were quiet, had good grip and I ran them to 27000 miles before I had to replace 2 of them after an incident involving hitting a pot hole at speed, there was still a good 4mm left on them but I replaced all 4 at the same time which cost £900  2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Hankooks?? I run their van version on my Transit and they are excellent. Must admit I wouldn't have thought of them for a FFRR.

Which version is it - the Optimo K406??

Generally on the FFRR Pirellis are favoured and wear really well. Better than the Contis for this but i would also look at the the Michellin Diamaris and the Dunlop Grandtrek. 255 50 20 It is hard to avoid outside edge wear on the the passenger side front from "over enthusiastic" driving in roundabouts etc

RR Sport wear the Contis quicker on the edges quickly on the 275 40 20 due to the tyre "characteristic"which is talk for they only come with about 1mm on the outside edges from new although this is not as big a problem on 255 50 20 as it doesnt share the same " characteristic"

having a lot of time in the tyre trade , i can highly recommend hankooks.... ... - .- -.

Hankooks are the best of the 22" tyres available

I have veirsten (!?)on the front, from camskil.

Impressed with them, they are the sport tread, not winter.

Normally buy Michelin, from Costco. They are the best buy in my opinion when looking at price, milage achieved etc..
