Just in the process of getting information about shipping my car so thought I would update this thread with some helpful tips as I get them.

Apparently most shipping agents will ask that the car have as little fuel as possible - i.e. in the red - as this is due to reducing fire risk (and apparently is law in UK although can't confirm).

Also, on points used to secure the car in the container, I know not to use the towing eye but should I be using the "lashing points" described in the manual (pic below - poor quality sorry) or are there some other tie down points to use?

Yip, put the car in access low and then lash it down as tight as you can, fold the mirrors in and make sure the car can't rock, and really try to rock it  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

If i am correct in transport mode the car sinks in the bump stops so even lower than access mode presicely for the reason Will mentions. The lashing points are indeed for these type of situations. Marketing guys would say the lashing points are for those river crossings in the bush on the rafts goung across rapids  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

car is being shipped in a month's time - so need to fit in a full service and oil change before that (even though last one was only 4 months ago)...

given up on removing dpf, decat and blanking egrs as did not get any positive feedback on that...

The egr blanking would be a simple process with leaving the current setup in place and just fitting a blanking plate at each end of the system pipes. Dpf removal could be trickier but not impossible. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

If you don't unplug anything but just block the metal pipe the car shouldn't have a clue it's been done as it can't register egr airflow  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
