Bought my kids an old Nissan Micra. It was one of the cheapest to insure, reliable and not too small and flimsy so driver /passengers might actually survive a crash. Won't do his street cred any favours but beggars can't be choosers. 2016 3.0 Vogue

I read recently that if you add a parent as an additional driver , it actually brought the premium down.

Now thats crafty..... Fire and theft only possibly, a kind of storage policy for a vehicle off the road. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
