United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver
Mercedes C Class Coupe

Does anyone have any experience of the current Mercedes C Class Coupe? Seems to be some pretty good deals to be had on new examples Whistle I due to start doing a few more miles with work and was thinking the C220 CDI in AMG Sport trim might be a good daily commuter/run around. Finance wise it's coming in circa £200 a month less than an equivalent 4 series or A5..... it's made me think about changing my 'classic' TT Whistle Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White
Gone: Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue, Zambezi Silver, Charcoal Oxford Leather
Also: Mk1 Audi TT 1.8T Quattro, Brilliant Black

If I was you I would stay away. The engine is HORRIBLE!

Some people might read that and say its an exaggeration but its not, it has to be the worst derv I have ever heard and driven, the audi and BMW Dervs and leaps and bounds ahead in terms of power, refinement and sound.

You would be better off with the 180 engine. My friend has that and its a good engine, pokey and doesnt do too bad on MPG

I am afraid I do not agree with the above about the 220 CDI - I think it is a great engine - the twin turbo set up pulls early and hard, strong torque, good power and fuel economy. It has won an enormous amount of fans in the UK and sold very well…

Overall a really good car and excellent value at the moment, although the 7G is well worth the money IMO.. 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

How many more miles a week? What are you doing now?

There's some good Mercedes lease deals available. I had one for a C63 Estate at £500/month on 10,000 miles p.a. I thought that was very reasonable indeed.

A friend recently had the C220 Saloon. He liked it a lot. I've not had direct experience of the engine, though, so can't comment personally. Si. <This is my name.
