Did I mention how fast this beauty is, and the fact the cabin feels expensive but sporty and swathed in Ivory stitched Jet Semi Aniline leather from floor to roof....

Its yet another one I would love to keep Big Cry

Hi Stev06,

Gary's car looks great, as always, with all the vehicles he sells. Fuel economy is never going to be good on a 5.0 litre supercharged FFRR with the aerodynamics of a breeze block. However, it is down to what you want. I am fortunate to be able to afford a 5.0 S/C at the moment. I only do short journey's so fuel costs are not a problem, but a diesel is a no no as it will clog up the filters in no time.

There are very few cars on the market that can match the FFRR for refinement. That said, if you ever drive a 5.0 S/C you will not want to drive anything else. It is an amazing piece of technology. As for the L405....sort that suspension knocking issue and I still won't buy one, the L322 rules Thumbs Up

Cheers,

Well Chris Harris (Pistonheads) suggests 14mpg on a cross country run... I don't do massive mileage, but I fear a diesel is the sensible option... I'm so tempted by this though!

By the way Gary - how many miles?

Yes. Hard though it is to believe, the NA 5.0 is more frugal than the NA 4.4.
The Super 5.0 is more frugal than the Super 4.2.
The Super 4.2 economy as almost exactly the same as the 5.0 NA.

However, the larger engines have more power and you may to tempted not to drive the same way they did on the fuel economy test. Mr. Green

My SC 4.2 is getting a calculated 19mpg* on a 75 mile a day commute into Hammersmith and back.

I doubt the 5.0 can do much better than that.

*Trip computer says 19.5 over 3 weeks. 19 calculated on a 270 mile tankful earlier. Shell unleaded / Shell V-Power used alternately.

A 5.0 is VERY tempting, though. DAB and better phone integration being amongst the top improvements, plus the tiny bit of extra poke. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.
