Spoke with LR warranty yesterday and clarified:

All RR under 100,000 miles can now qualify for the LR "Approved" extended warranty (£1455 for 12 months including roadside assist).

The "Select" extended warranty can also still be purchased too (£1005 for 12 months including roadside assist).

" The Land Rover Approved Warranty is exclusively for vehicles that have covered less than 100,000 miles at the time of purchase and is only available through an authorised Land Rover dealer.

There is no limit to the number of claims that can be made and no limit to the value of claims up to the purchase price paid for your Approved Used Land Rover.

All ages of Land Rover Approved Used vehicle are covered with the duration of cover dependent upon the age of the vehicle:

Vehicles under 7 years old – 12 months cover
Vehicles over 7 years old – 6 months cover.

Your Land Rover Approved Warranty can be extended at the time of vehicle purchase:

Vehicles under 7 years old – 12 or 24 months
Vehicles over 7 years old – 6 or 12 months "

Interesting..........

So we can now get full landrover approved (not select) for all LR products upto 100,000 miles.

On their heads be it!

I wonder how much 2 years cover would be...... If negotiated a bit directly with LR warranty!

Would happen now I have replaced most of the "consumable" warranties items on mine which would be covered under approved but not select, such as bushes! Would have covered the transfer box too on approved but not in select!

Trying to think if there is anything big which would warrant £2800 on warranty over the next 2 years though.......

Gearbox - all serviced and running fine
Alternator - done
Engine - sweet as a nut
Turbos ???? Probably ok
Rear bushes - will need doing I suspect but not that pricey
Rear calipers - all serviced and working fine
Fron calipers - all ok
Air bags - seem ok but again not too pricey

Problem is that it has to fail completely or at least that has been my experience and most things don't they just stop working which they say is normal wear and tear

Our experience of the LR warranty with this and on 2 previous cars has been that it is superb.

God knows how much monies worth of warranty claims have been made on ours since April 2013... and I know too of course!
