Decided to fit a tow bar myself. Got a good quality bar and dedicated electrics.
Got all the gubbins out of the boot, rear bumper off so far all going well. Put plenty of WD40 on the four bolts holding the two brackets under the car and went off for a cuppa to let the WD40 do its magic.
First bolt a little pressure no problem, loosened it off a few turns, second bolt the same, third bolt put a little pressure on it and bang it sheared off . It sheared so easily that I can only think a previous owner has made an attempt at it before and realised that he couldn't shift and gave up.
I guess all I can do now is take it to a garage and see if they can drill the bolt shaft out and re-thread the hole
Anyone else had this problem?
