Thankfully my 2011 Range Rover Supercharged has only been in my RR dealership for regular maintenance, but my daughters 2010 LR2 (or Freelander depending where you are) was at the dealership for 3 days for a recall and another time for 2 maybe 3 weeks for transmission issues. My old RR was in the shop for just over a month because of complete failure of the air suspension @ 131,000 miles, 3 1/2 years old. Current Cars -

4 months and 3 days then a new engine! Must say though that having that done and having the torque converter done too (plus everything else from struts to wheels) what a brilliant car this thing is...A good LPG system and it eats the miles up every day...

Got to change soon though as my parenets can't climb in anymore and I need a lower car...Any suggestions? Owning a Range Rover is the land based version of a boat...a hole in the road in which to throw regular bundles of money!

Save thousands : keep the Rangie and simply get yourself an IID tool to recalibrate your "Low"/"Access" position.
Alternatively, or in conjunction with it, install some retracting side bars  l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Do you happen to know how much lower a FF will go in access height and is it something a main stealer could do
this would be a much welcome feature untill the wife gets some new hips.
Or could someone point me in the direction of how to do with a ID tool.

Wood chip...if you lower the access height with the IID Tool, the standard and off road heights will also be reduced by the same amount.

There is also a limit that the height can be reduced overall as the front level won't drop as far as the rear without fitting new adjustable ride sensor links..Think it's about 15- 20mm max without fitting links and 40mm with.

I might just leave access height alone, anyway the wife is booked in now to have her infected skull bone put right then she can have new hips with a bit of look.
Getting a friend to do the led fogs on monday night so here's hoping for a sucessfull outcome.

My new one was in for a whole month only one week after delivery!

Supposed to have been a week to sort a factory paint defect and a few minor niggles but ran on for reasons unexplained.

Well, our current record (latest ordeal) ended last week at being well into the 7th week. As usual - hopefully - I'll keep it balanced and say that for all it was another disappointing and frustrating experience that has genuinely dented confidence (i.e what next?), there was/is at least one senior manager who never fails to restore my faith with his good intentions and personal professionalism. Nobodies fool and a gentleman, really.

About 10 weeks for me! First day of ownership ignition key wouldn't turn on my 2005 HSE. Mechanic with Rovacom spent 4 hours pulling console and steering column apart to disengage interlocks so it could be transported to his workshops. Ignition barrel is vin specific and Land Rover Uk were out of stock. Eventually barrel was repaired and recoded by a locksmith in Sydney! I'm in Perth. At least I wasn't stranded in the desert! I now have a spare barrel and my own Hawkeye which has had plenty of use!
