Advice on TDV8 Tyres

Need some advice from your combined wisdom Whistle

Currently got standard 20" 7 spoke wheels with road tyres.

I need to use the RR to tow a horse box at least everyother weekend often on muddy fields.

Are there any 20" AT type tyres available with decent off road grip or will I need to go to 19" wheels and if so which ones fit a 2007 TDV8 ?

Then what are the best tyres for the 19" rims.

I could go for MTR's ideal for the towing bit, but not really ideal for the other 25 days of the month & I cannot really be bothered Embarassed to change the wheels over two or three times a month that I tow the horse box.

Thanks in advance

Paul

Take a look over on the Disco3.co.uk forums, they have a forum section just for wheels and tyres or you could drop an email to AJS 4x4 Tyres who sponsor Disco3, RRSport and Freelander2 forums, they are very good and free with advice. 20" ATR's are rare as hen's teeth but I think Pirelli now make one, although it isn't listed on their out of date website (they must have website updating lessons from Land Rover!). There isn't exactly a large choice of 19" ATR's either.......................... Goodyear do one suitable for Land Rovers in 19" but they are difficult to get hold of. Cooper are popular with the Disco3 guys as they are inexpensive but biggest tyre is 19" a few guys on RRS have also fitted General Grabber UHP's 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

As above. Disco3 site has a whole section on this.

19" is your best bet for choice of tyres. Pirelli Scorpion ATR's are extremely good both on and off road. Find a set of the standard 19" Vogue wheels. Plenty on the bay of all evil and were a few on a post on here a couple of days back.

Mine came with standard Pirelli Scorpions I think. Confused

These are NOT the same as the Pirelli Scorpion ATR which is a fantastic 19" all rounder - albeit a pricey bit of rubber. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

You need to put the horse before the car t in this case to unstick the car Rolling with laughter Much cheaper than wheels and tyres.

You can run cooper zeon ltzs on 20s, nice looking wheels, look for ronP or bigcarpchaser on disco3 and look in their galleries.
They are both on stormers albeit copies

Hi DC

Yes I had looked at them, then read alll the posts on offset etc Rolling Eyes - thought I had then better go & lie down in a darkened room.

The LTZ's look ideal just need to find a dealer who has them in stock so can try one first on the std wheels just to ensure there is sufficient clearance,

Will post pics if I go that route.

Is anyone on here running LTZ's ?

Regards

Paul

Scorpion Zero vs Scorpion ATR - how much worse are the ATRs on the road?
