Sparingly. I tend to only use it for the last few miles anyway so the zoom is set to give me a decent view of how the local area looks at street level. Typically set to 1/4 of a mile on the zoom scale.

Yep good point I fully agree, I have a UK and French atlas in the car all the time, nav is great but it's electrical and even with a phone it only works with signal

Thanks guys. I tried split screen with two different zoom settings but think i prefer the screen unsplit. However the auto zoom may take some getting used to. I've also mastered the voice commands 'navigation zoom level 4' etc.

i know what you mean re the zooming in and out using the dial Paul, very easy to do and you dont have to take your eyes of the road to do it...
