Not sure if this sound suits the Range Rover well. I think the standard exhaust could do with a bit more V8 burble like the old classics. That was a nice sound, this one sounds a bit too "racy" for a Range Rover. Only my opinion.

I have a fantastic custom exhaust on my 4.2 SC, unfortunately it's still in the garage after being stolen so I can't make a video for you all. The first exhaust I had done was far too loud for me and this one is better sounding and more muted when cruising at 70.

For any SC I'd probably recommend that you could get away with having good quality 200 cel sports cats put in and keep the stock exhaust. You'll get more Db's with hardly any change in sound character.

The Euro / American aftermarket exhausts are a lot louder, with the American ones often rotting on our salty roads and the Euro ones being quite raspy.

I know a couple of lads who live in a caravan who would gladly drive it past you just wouldn't see it again but then again at least you would know what it sounds like

Rigged up the GoPro on the back of the car, just trying to convert the file but I think the case pretty much ruins all sound quality.

I recorded the exhaust sound on my Stag many years ago by taping it on my Walkman & couldn't believe how much louder it sounded - even for a convertible. I was thinking about a louder exhaust at the time and didn't bother after listening to the recording.

If you do go for one I can highly recommend Hayward & Scott who built a complete system for my race XJS about 10 years ago, which sounds great & passes all the 105db static noise tests at circuits without any problem.
