SDP? Are you only insured 3rd party then and not fully comp? I'd have thought that any policy covers you for travelling back and forth between work, unless you are using it for work.

My policy specifically covers me for "business use class 1", but not for what used to be called "commercial travelling" ie a travelling salesman.

I usually get prices for SDP and SDP+C. The commuting can make a big difference to the price. I don't have it on my Porsche.

I specifically added commuting to mine on top of SDP, only to cover emergency trips in winter. It added quite a significant amount to my premium. 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE |

Stan, I stand corrected! Then again, as par for the UK, a complete rip off! |

Paul, commuting always used to be included in SDP.

Will keep an eye out for this at renewal as never come across it before. All my policies/quotations have always included travelling to and from work, with SDP. .

Yet another scam by insurance companies to offer what seems like good cover at a reasonable price.

Yep, they are all stripping cover out to get the price right down which is why you see the need for them to upsell everything to you before you complete the transaction.
