Scotland 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey
Wheel Hub Corrosion

Hi all, recently collected my second Range Rover Vogue, went for a 2011 Vogue in Stornoway Grey (colour I always wanted) used to have a black 2007 Vogue.

Am delighted with the car but have a couple of questions, I hope you can help me out.

Firstly, I notice that there is what looks like some corrosion on the rear wheel hub. This is the bit that the actual wheel is bolted onto, is grey in colour but is showing some signs of discolouration and indeed looks like rust coming through.

Am interested to know if this is a common problem, if it is likely to be covered under warranty and if not how best can I fix it? Don't mind a bit of DIY if needed.

Next question, the rear of my car seems to sit verily slightly lower than the front, again, is this common, am i just being picky?

Thanks in anticipation of any responses.

BTW, good to be back in a Range Rover, had an X5 in between and whilst it was an excellent drive it just doesn't have the same presence.

Cheers

Rear hub corrosion is a common gripe.

Some of the rear discs seem to be worse than others - the OE are awful, but I think Lockheed ones seem to stay shiny for longer.

I agree with alistair, however i doubt you will manage to get them to swap it over as it is part of the disc, and these arent covered by any warranty, corrosion or mechanical as they are consumable parts like pads. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

When they come new they are primed. I always mask up the disc friction area and give mine a coat of heat proof paint. I also do round the edge and vents. Generally lasts the life of the disc which is not very long! 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4
