It just goes to prove the rise and rise of the Classic.
People will pull all sorts of faces at the 1971 car and it's price tag, but plenty of similar cars have buyers at those kinds of prices - 'tis the way of the world !
There are very few "J" registered cars in existence - I had no. 3955, a "K" car. Biggest mistake I ever made selling that one ! Big Cry

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

^^ Are they vastly different, Ray ? - you'd be surprised how similar they "feel". Land Rover have done an excellent job in bottling the Range Rover "spirit" since the first ones. If you watch an early publicity film and see what else was on the road back then - the Range Rover was never basic. It's all relative.
I believe the original brief was for the car to be able to reach 100mph and drive across a ploughed field.
I reckon the first ones were a piece of genius design Bow down . . . but maybe I'm slightly biased !
As much as I love my L322, give me an early car and I'd be happier. Bonkers, but true -

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

And they came with a footpump, presumably so you could re inflate the tyres after ripping them
Off the rims whilst driving across a ploughed field at 100mph...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Don't think they meant at the same time . . . ahem.
The first Michelin tyres for the Range Rover were designed specifically for the car.
Probably the first 100mph truck tyre !

Lovely, but wild prices! I really like the beige one and think the price correctly reflects an excellent restoration. The blue one - now that's ambitious pricing. However, I bet it will sell.

Would the Sahara Dust classic be a good investment I wonder? Forget what RR and LR enthusiasts would be willing to pay. Is it really a £15K car? Travelling around in circles again.
