Off with his head !! Twisted Evil

Seriously, when you have a high profile figure like this treating dangerous and unacceptable behaviour as a joke, what chance do we stand of educating other people not to do it?

But why, if he was 'driving on the motorway' is the greenery in the background not blurred? If he was driving then the background would have been burred, unless the camera phone it was obviously taken on had an ISO setting of more than 3200, if so that would explain the grain on the image.

Personally, I think its all a load of Censored ! No way was he driving at the time!

What's with the media attacking top gears presenters.

Censored off and focus on real news.

Without commenting on the person in the OP, I'm increasingly surprised at the amount of people I see driving very very expensive cars whilst blatantly holding a mobile telephone to the ear, or as seems more trendy these days, in front of their faces, as though they are speaking into a dictaphone. Either way, each time I've seen this, those culpable very much appear to have a "look at me" aura.

Surely, those fortunate enough and to whom I allude, could also afford the Bluetooth option?

Its fair to say that it is only sensible (or legal) to use a hand-held mobile phone is when a vehicle is parked.

IMHO... hands free use should be avoided as it's fair to say that engaging in a telephone conversation will logically distract the driver from his primary task, even if in hands-free mode.

In this case..If he was parked up (as may be the case) then he would have definitely brought this important point to the media's attention, thus to prevent his name being dragged thru the mud, but I understand he has apologized for his mistake on this occasion.

Anybody who excuses the use of a hand held phone by the driver whilst a vehicle is not parked, has possibly not been driven into by a distracted driver...I for one have been, and its obviously not a pleasant experience. Fortunately an in-car camera caught the actions of the other driver and the police took the appropriate action.

Semi-rant over. Sorry if anybody disagrees Thumbs Up GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

Fully agree that hand - held devices should NEVER be used unless parked up Thumbs Up

However, I get a bit pi Censored sed off at people going on about hands free being a distraction Banging Head

If we take that to its logical conclusion, all passengers should have to be gagged to prevent them from distracting the driver - IMHO a load of orchestral stalls Mr. Green 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

The top gear chaps aren't doing themselves any favours at the moment are they ? I imagine Richard has the media following around now waiting for him to slip up.

I agree with the posts above, not a clever thing to do. Even I have fitted the BMW Bluetooth kit in my car and I'm skint.

But I do ask myself if the picture would have been sent to the newspaper followed by a media storm if my dad had been seen doing it ? No, is the answer. So I sometimes feel a bit sorry for the celebs who can't do anything without a million people knowing about it. Obviously, this only applies to the celebs I like.

It'll not be long before you are banned from using the pedals in a car as that's obviously distracting, and that's before we get to the big round twirly thing in front of the driver. Constantly distracting........and the other road users........a major distraction they are......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

If the Top Gear team carried on like the Blue Peter cast it would not be one of the most popular shows on the TV. The whole point is they say what they think and funnily enough that makes it funny and very watch able.

It's all meant in jest and is no worse than any group of ageing lads in the pub would do/say. The world has gone politically correct mad. Why do people that cannot see the humour watch it anyway. Sad
