Grrr I have been on a long trip out today and after booting the loud pedal out of a junction the flippin air susp inactive shows up

now I guess this may be down to my ff been re tracked yesterday, seems the steering wheel is not quit straight ahead so will go back for that to be sorted, but my question is

Is the only way to clear the fault is a diagnostic reset? or would taking the terminals of the battery then do the lock to lock sort it?

Think an iid tool be in the post soon, was waiting for the BT one for mine to come out. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

When I had this issue it had to be plugged in to reset it.

i wonder if they knocked the abs sensor when they did the alignment?

funny things FF, yours might sort it self out on its own.. ... - .- -.

Most likely the steering angle sensor will need to be re-calibrated

Well the ff will be going back Monday for them to sort it out, if they can! and I'll probably get an iid tool too you never know when that bong rears his ugly head

Just thinking today while gardening.. Was wondering if I should do one of 3 things

1 take FF back to tyre depot who did the tracking and clear the fault, I guess they might not be able to though.

2 just take FF to main dealer and centre the steering wheel and clear fault, probably not able to fit in this week.

3 Just buy the iid tool and do it my self, clear fault and centre the wheel?

If the steering wheel isn't set straight ahead, or in the position it was before, after tracking the air suspension inactive message will show. Had the same thing when I replaced a track rod end. Once I had the track rod end set correctly the steering wheel was again centred and the fault cleared.
I always thought the steering wheel had to be clamped into the straight ahead position before any tracking adjustments were carried out.
I would take the car back to where you got the tracking done.

Your first two options, whilst time consuming for you, are free  .

Option 1 for me. This has almost certainly been brought on by the fact that the steering wheel is not centred when you drive in a straight line. It's one hell of a coincidence if not! The fact that they don't have LR diagnostics is not your problem. If it were me, I would very politely but firmly be parking (literally!) this in their court.....

Just one point, taking the steering wheel off and putting it back on straight will not cure the problem.
I think the tracking needs to be redone completely, this time with the steering wheel and hence the steering column clamped in the centred position.
Whether or not the steering sensor can be adjusted to cure the problem I'm not sure but I certainly wouldn't be letting a tyre depot do it.

Taking the steering wheel was not an option as that would cause more of an issue I think.
I wasn't sure it this depot could reset/clear faults hence the options above.

Well this morning I was at the tyre depot for 0830, no other cars there so I got in first and beat the crowd!

They put the RR on the ramp and re did the tracking....it was out again from the read out!
They cleared the fault so happy days BUT they mentioned the bolts that do the camber and toe on the rear are seized. If I free them then they can do the tracking again, seems the back end is the problem here.

So after coming home, no faults, steering wheel just slightly out I set out to free, and curse at some bolts, 2 hours later Im back on the road.

Well the RR is booked back in on Wednesday morning for the full monty tracking, so we'll see what happens next.

Im not cursing these guys as there machine is brand new, only had it 3 weeks, its a Snap on one and they still learning the new machine.

Tip of the day
Buy new cam bolts for the rear tracking and fit them before having the tracking done
