ADJUSTING SPLASH GUARDS

Anyone know how much work involved in in adjusting the 02>05 front splash guards, to take the newer 06>09 front lights, or is it easier to purchase the new ones and just refit. (research done conversion starts in 2 weeks) Thanks (SEE WHAT HAPPENS WITH HEATED SEATS)
